My Learning Object

My learning objective was created using Voki. I used Voki to create an avatar introduction to a lesson. This tool is great because it can grab student attention, instead of listening to their teacher students can be entertained by an avatar. Teachers can use a animated voice, like I did here, or they can record their own voice to make it more personal.
This is also a good way to give students instructions at home, with the added benefit that they can play it over again if they missed part of the instruction.

For this particular object I gave students an overview of the lesson that they will be learning. This lesson connects to the Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum under People and Environment, Living and Working in Ontario. This Voki introduces the concept that different regions promote different jobs and industries, this is expectation B1.2.
