Hello Grade 3's !

I hope you have been enjoying our book study of How To Eat Fried Worms! Pretty gross how Billy is eating all those slippery, slimy worms; I sure hope he gets his bicycle in the end.

Let's Ride the Bus!

Hey guys! I found a pretty cool game for you to play! It all about riding the bus, you need to determine who is allowed on the bus and who didn't pay enough money! Plus, it has robots .... who doesn't like robots!
This game will help us to practice some of the mental math strategies for addition that we have been using in class!
Give it a try at:

Good luck :)

Parents,
Check out this game with your children to help them practice their addition and decision making skills.

In the Ontario Math Curriculum it states that by the end of grade 3:
Students must be able to solve problems involving the addition and subtraction of single- and multi-digit whole numbers, using a variety of strategies.

This game helps your child to practice their mental math for adding single digit whole numbers in a fun an interactive way! Play this game with your child or challenge them to a competition to see who can get more points!
If you have any questions about this game, some of the strategies we have practiced in class, or some other great game please do not hesitate to contact me at the school or through your child's agenda.

Things I like!

Hey guys!

I would love for you to check out some of the things I am interested in ... you know teachers don't live at the school right?

My number one interest is FOOTBALL, Sunday afternoon's on my couch are definitely my happy place! My favorite team is the Buffalo Bills! To find out a little bit about my team you can go to http://www.buffalobills.com/.
I also like to play fantasy football, this is where you can make your own football team ... basically you can choose all the best players (if you're lucky) and have them 'play' against other fantasy teams. To find out more about players, teams, and the league in general,  I use www.nfl.com.

Another guilty pleasure of mine, which is a little more on the girlie side, is a site designed by a fashion designer named Lauren Conrad. She blog about fashion, food, and everyday things in her life. I love to check her site for some cool recipe ideas. Check it out www.laurenconrad.com

Something cool for YOU!

Check out this website. It has everything you need to know about what your day is going to be like! Don't quite understand yet? Don't let me rain on your parade .... go on over to www.weathernetwork.com and come on into the sun!

The Weather network can tell you what the weather is going to be like on every day you are coming to school, this will help you stay warm, cool, or dry when you're out on the playground each day.
